I don't think we can currently expect the packaged Hibernate 4.x jars to work since the Hibernate integration adapter module (org.jboss.as.jpa.hibernate:4) is associated with the static Hibernate module.  

http://pastebin.com/u8dxU25Q shows the error that occurs when the org.jboss.as.jpa.hibernate:4 (which has the static Hibernate module on its classpath) adapter is used with the packaged Hibernate jars.
