Hey,

First congrats on your Exam! 

>From what I thing it is happening is that there is some kind of firewall/ids/AV system on your windows machine, as it looks like that when you connect to DC connection goes trough, but any connection from DC --> HC fails when HC registers itself on DC sends the data about HC itself but nothing else comes trough.

Can you try in any other combination, for instance make windows your DC an linux HC, or even use your windows 2000 box there it should work. I would first replace your windows xp from equation. then go from there on.
