The AMIs have always had these files (see standalone/configuration/standalone-ec2-ha.xml and standalone/configuration/standalone-mod_cluster-ec2-ha.xml). 

Right now, the EC2 config files come from the jboss-ec2-eap RPM. At some point, it would be good to just add these files to either the AS 7 repo or the product branch but we need to decide where the best place to put them is (e.g., examples subdirectory, etc.). Note that after incorporating the EC2-specific config files into the upstream repo or the product branch, we'll need to make some changes to the jboss-ec2-eap RPM.
