I've tested surefire and found and/or/not expresions working. The parser for groups parameter: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/surefire/trunk/surefire-grouper/src/main/javacc/category-expression.jj

I've tested it with this tests:
@Category(ATests.class)	public void Atest();
@Category(BTests.class)	public void Btest();
@Category(CTests.class) public void Ctest();
@Category({ATests.class, BTests.class}) public void ABtest();
@Category({ATests.class, CTests.class}) public void ACtest();
@Category({BTests.class, CTests.class}) public void BCtest();

And surefire groups set to:
<groups>eu.janinko.test.category.CTests Or (eu.janinko.test.category.BTests && (! eu.janinko.test.category.ATests))</groups>

And tests runned were:
Btest
Ctest
ACtest
BCtest
