Ok the reason I ask is they are both built on the webkit engine. 

My wire dump looks nothing like yours, which has some really strange things happening.

The most interesting is the 40 packets from port 51543. The client repeating the same request, and each time being told it requires auth, and yet it never provides auth info. A later connection tries to send a user of "admin", but that makes no sense unless you have cached credentials somewhere.

Here is another experiment; Can you try creating a new clean user on your mac, and login as that clean user, and see if the same thing happens?
