How about the attribute name and the type of the value?

That doesn't help much if it's a collection and the problem is in an element.

Hmm, I have a vague memory of long ago writing some utility to analyze a value and help track this kind of thing down -- walk through a collection or something. Rado -- does that ring a bell? I have a vague feeling it wasn't ever part of any actual release though; just something someone could hack in somehow.
