Eric Rich commented on AS7-6963:
--------------------------------
Brian sorry was not explicit enough in my description (was having some computer trouble).
Example:
When trying to set up the Security Manger (or a security Realm) with LDAP (as an example) if you do not configure it properly there is 0 logging to explain why.
In order to get any relevant information out of the system as to what the possible issue with your configuration is you have do one of two thing.
- Enable byteman (and look at output provide by a script like the one attached)
- Create a debug jar to look at the LDAP objects. (example attached)
However I feel that this not only applies to LDAP but to the whole Domain configuration for these authentication items (the ones defined in https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/AS71/Security+Realms).
Is there a way we can enable debug logging for this security manager to help assist with configuration issues. At a minimum expand the logging to explain why you failed to authenticate.
