ModelControllerClient assume "http-remoting" is the protocol if one isn't specified. Legacy client code won't specify the protocol. We should be smarter and asume "remoting" if the port is 9999.

This change doesn't rule out doing some more complex protocol detection, it's just a simple improvement.
