Note: the reason I care about this kind of thing is less because it's critical to me that an AS 8 master can control an AS 7 slave and more that it's critical to me that we sort out how to do this kind of thing. At some point we are going to get requirements for this kind of support, probably in some kind of last minute rush, and it's much better if we know how to do it.
