The title of this issue is a bit deceptive, it makes it sound like just the Resteasy validation integration is broken. 

It should really be 'We have just deliberatly completly broken JAX-RS, disabled every test and hoped the reviewer did not notice, someone should fix it'. 

This is being fixed for now by reverting the patch. Once https://github.com/resteasy/Resteasy/pull/300 is merged then the patch can be un-reverted with a resteasy upgrade.
