Isn't this a mis-handling of exclusion lists and DONT_LOOPBACK ? I mean if you set DONT_LOOPBACK, your local address is not supposed to be in dests.

Oops, I see what you meant: real_dests is constructed even if dests == null. OK, I can add code to remove the local address if DONT_LOOPBACK is set.
