Edson Tirelli commented on DROOLS-577:
--------------------------------------
I did an initial investigation and the problem is that at runtime, Drools is injecting the Rule instance as the variable "rule" into the MVEL context. This variable shadows the property name and prevents the condition from succeeding.
I am discussing with Mark what the goal of that injection was and how to properly fix this, because the variable is only injected at runtime, not compile time. So it isn't available for use, because it fails compilation.
Meanwhile, a workaround is to reference the property explicitly by using the "this" keyword:
Fired( this.rule == "my rule name" )
