Both containers are WildFly 8.0.1.CR2 containers. I followed the instructions here:
https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/WFLY8/EJB+invocations+from+a+remote+server+instance

I did link to my message board post that described this issue in more detail. I did everything to a T -- no deviations from the wiki instructions.
