James Perkins created LOGMGR-105:
------------------------------------
Summary: Allow encoding to be overridden in a SyslogHandler
Key: LOGMGR-105
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/LOGMGR-105
Project: JBoss Log Manager
Issue Type: Feature Request
Security Level: Public (Everyone can see)
Reporter: James Perkins
Assignee: James Perkins
Currently the encoding for a {{SyslogHandler}} is ignored expect for printing the UTF-8 byte order mark. The encoding should probably be allowed to be changed so that syslog messages can be sent with other encodings.
While the RFC-5424 documentation does indicate UTF-8 should be used, it does allow for other encoding types.
