That configuration option did not exist be default in the 7.1.1.Final standalone and the default behavior there was true. I suspect it was either added later and set to false or the default was changed after that release. Either way, the default change broke backwards compatibility of the configuration. It's way too late to be complaining about it now but thanks for providing a simple resolution.
