Ok, problem is not in Digest implementation but in test - `String` constructor and its method `getBytes()` must be called with UTF-8 encoding as param. In other cases is conversion done in encoding depending on environment - test fails on Windows or if started with different encoding, as David noticed:
`LANG=ISO-8859-1 mvn install`
