There is room to fix anything :-)

there was release for 9.0.1 as there was no change in WildFly that would need one.
this is change diff https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly/compare/9.0.0.Final...9.0.1.Final
There ware no components upgrades which is usually the reason for new bom release.

What is your problem with 8.2.1 bom and wildfly 8.2.1?
Best version of 8.x bom would definitively be 8.2.2 which has quite lots of things fixed due to not importing broken resteasy bom.
