Nevermind, the error is on my side:
I didn't know that the bom jboss-javaee-7.0-with-tools was renamed to jboss-javaee-wildfly-7.0-with-tools. So the 9.0.1 bom does exist on Maven Central.

Furthermore, it looks like this confusing versioning issue has been fixed in the 9.x and 10.x series.
