We don't support Infinispan's invocation-batching as it lacks support for suspend/resume.  <transaction mode="BATCH"/> will use a custom implementation of startBatch()/endBatch().  

You work around this (for use by TreeCache) by creating a programmatic configuration with invocation batching enabled.
