[~ivassile] It is up to you if you want to continue to contribute a fix but IMO this is code due to be replaced so I don't really see anyone benefiting from a fix.

However when some attribute is added for this element in standalone.xml then it does not fail during server start. In correct behavior Validation error should be thrown during starting server.
