[~jomarko] I worked up some design ideas along the lines of what you are talking about a while back, for Process designer node menus. [~mstevens1] is assigned to Process designer now, and I think the team might be revisiting that effort. I posted an example of a proposed visual design for the same. Maybe something to consider for future?:
