If we duplicate the values, for each row we will have two (or more) "equals" instances (in dev language, A.equals(B)).
It is hard for me to imagine a situation where such instances could be required; even if there could be some specific case, I think it would be uncommon. Anyway, I may be very wrong on actual use cases, and most depend on user interaction.
