[~jomarko] Yes indeed; and I have wondered why the marshalling code chooses to treat empty {{LiteralExpressions}} as not existing.

The cause is [this|https://github.com/kiegroup/kie-wb-common/blob/master/kie-wb-common-dmn/kie-wb-common-dmn-backend/src/main/java/org/kie/workbench/common/dmn/backend/definition/v1_1/ExpressionPropertyConverter.java#L31]. I've re-assigned to [~tari_manga] for an explanation.

Personally, I think empty {{LiteralExpressions}} should be preserved when marshalling to XML and the runtime validation should report such scenarios as an error (or warning) and not _drop_ all together.
