The 3 interfaces from kie-wb-common#2954 (DataTypeList.View, DNDListComponent.View, and DataTypeSearchBar.View) implement org.jboss.errai.ui.client.local.api.elemental2.IsElement. The second one has a default implementation for getElement (which is quite handy to DRY the view implementation). I think I'll keep the IsElement on these 3 cases and close this JIRA.
