For now, the solution posted at \[1\] is sufficient.

Kubernetes network-connectors such as weave-net, submariner and skupper provide a (virtual) flat address space. Once this is set up, we could use DNS (for example) to discover the nodes in all sites and then run additional logic to discover the site masters.

This is currently not needed, but we may come back and try this out at a later time...
