W/o details, how one supposed to figure out what the problem is? Oh right -- we are mind reading developers! ;) (I'm not, so I don't expect anybody else to be).
More seriously, I'm delighted I was able to provide adequate details. It's been a while since I've dealt with Maven, and it looks like I messed up on the scope mappings. For those looking at this ticket later, I found a good explanation for the mappings here: [Maven scopes vs. Gradle configurations|http://andresalmiray.com/maven-scopes-vs-gradle-configurations/]
I can confirm that this has fixed things for my Demo project, and possibly for several other issues as well. I am going to be heavily testing for the next couple of days and will be updating as appropriate. In the meantime, if you want to flag this ticket as "Waiting on User" or "In QA" or something, that's fine by me. If things continue working the way initial indications give, I will retract my pull request and flag this issue as resolved within the next couple of days. If I find anywhere that this isn't the solution for this issue, I will update this ticket with that information (new issues get new tickets, obviously ;) ).
