I had a functionaly identical WS pojo and web.xml.  I am deploying an exploded ear with exploded war and getting exactly the same error.  

I notice that jboss modifies the web.xml in the same way.  My web service works only after deploying my exploded ear/war (or restoring web.xml to what it was when I wrote it).  Upon restarting jboss I get that error without fail.

I too am keen for any help.  In the meantime I am going to have to deploy my app as an ear file which is not so good because I have configuration info I would like to modify easily.
