I wouldn't put too much store by those debug messages.  Better to attach your debugger to the component and check whether it is being instantiated.  You'll need to post an example component, and your config files (components.xml, persistence.xml, application.xml), JSF page you are using to access, and the Seam startup log (from where it says welcome to seam onwards) if you need more help.
