You can always try a restart.  This could simply be a networking issue on your machine.  Sometimes with a flaky network interface, after prolonged periods of uptime you'll run across strange networking errors on other interfaces (kernel bug?).

See if things magically work after your entropy abatement restart.  I'll cross my fingers for you. :)
