I'm using Windows 2000 for both machines with a 1.5.0_06 JRE.

I don't need to customize the install.  I followed your suggestion and ran in headless mode for an EJB3 install:

java -jar jems-installer-1.2.0.BETA3.jar -installGroup ejb3 installpath=C:\dev\jboss-4.0.5.GA

Installed correctly!  Thanks again!
