[jboss-user] [JBoss Portal] - performance - multiple portlets on a page

I have around 6 portlets on a given portal page, each portlet displaying its own data. Now the total time taken for this portal page is the sum of the total time taken to display each of these portlets. Is there a way I can display one after the other in an asynchronous fashion as and when the data is ready? Can Ajax be of some help here?

any ideas are greatly appreciated
