Even if elysch approach works I think there should be a plugin (packaging type) that creates an .aop artifact. That would be much more of a cleaner solution. Using 1.5.5 (included in JBoss 4.2.0 EAP) I appreciate if that plugin would work with the v1.5 branch of JBossAOP.
