Thank you so much for the suggestion. Is there  any example how you can appropriately split a portlet in different classes? Do I have to pass a lot of parameters as arguemts into the methods of such classes? Can I subclass a portlet? What is the better way to do that? Are there any kind of portlet handlers that take the responsibility like in Jetspeed portlets?
