+1 from me.  I've been very frustrated trying to get an application-specific log working for my EJB3 Seam EAR app.   The tricks I used to use for previous Spring based JBoss-based WAR apps don't work with the EAR and the JBoss docs on how to configure application-specific log files and configurations are pretty confusing.
