This issue seems to be more serious than originally expected. It is not only a problem of an inconsistent display of the message counters. 

In the meantime I observed a case where one of the leaked subscriptions continued to receive (and persist due to paging!) messages even after all subscriber processes had been stopped. No messages were consumed. In this case the subscriber was also shown by listAllSubscriptionsAsHTML().
