EJB3TimerService uses the DS for persisting the Timers in the database. The default configuration in the EJB3TimerService uses anonymous wrote : jboss.ejb:service=EJBTimerService,persistencePolicy=database
I am not sure if the EJB3Service needs XA DS, you can confirm this from the EJB forum
