I installed JBossAS 4.0.5 over the weekend using the JEMS installer.  If you selected the EJB3 option it configures hibernate with JbossAS for you.  You may also want to look at the jboss-seam-1.2.0.PATCH1which has examples using that configuration.  Both of these files can be downloaded via http://www.jboss.com/downloads/index.
