i Dont think so , since i have ran jboss on similar HP UX 11.11 machine , its working fine on that machine.
i have even set the following additional parameters  "-Xss1024k -Xms1024m -Xmx2048m"

i have even checked the  Garbage collector but i didn't find much information on this :(
