Please see here for a bunch of Seam example projects that work correctly on JBoss AS 4.2.0 GA -- they range from very simple helloworld to relatively complex ajax/jbpm apps.

Again, I have not tried the new seam-gen for 4.2.0 GA. But you can easily compare what's changed from the above examples.
