By the way, I have found the following Wiki article:

However, my EJBs are in "beans.jar" and the listener is in "web.war" so the deployment order *should* be beans.jar then web.war which is the correct order.  beans.jar is also declared first in the application.xml, so if order matters there for some reason -- it should work anyway.
