I'm also having the same problem with an NPE thrown while attempting to load entities using JBoss 4.2.1.GA and Toplink.

I originally thought this might be a problem with an incorrectly deployed *-ds.xml file, but there's not much to it other than specifying the connection details. 

Anyone figure out a way to solve this? It would be GREATLY appreciated! :)
