I use jfreechart throughout my application.  All the components are packaged regularly in the .jar file.  (the whole package is an .ear).  

More experimenting shows it is not jfreechart only (if I comment out the @Name("chartGraphPage") then it dies on the next component).  It exceptions on any of my classes that include anything from the war/WEB-INF/lib.
