Firstly, please do not cross post.

I deleted the exact same post you posted on the design forum.

Secondly, 1.2.0 version is fairly old now, if you are installing from new why aren't you using 1.4.0? 

The error you are getting is probably because you didn't follow the installation instructions with respect to installing JBoss Remoting as specified in the user guide.
