For a application to be deployed you just have to place it in the deploy folder. Do the logs show that your war file is being deployed by JBoss? If you have difficulty understanding the logs, post the relevant part of server.log here (remember to wrap it in a code block by using the Code button in the message editor window).

P.S: I am assuming you have tried accessing the application using http://localhost:8080/mywar
