The problem with not using "-b xxxx" is that the IP to bind with appears in numerous configuration files. Therefore, if you want to change server.xml, you must also change all of the other configuration files - they will all use ${jboss.bind.address} so they are not really that hard to find.

But if all that you are doing is wanting to avoid having to remember adding "-b xxx" to the run command, why not modify the run script to provide the "-b xxx"?
