Thank you for your answer, you put me on the right track!

It was something related to jndi naming as I suspected, but a much more stupid mistake -- in login-config.xml I had set the datasource to "java:/jdbc/WSTwoDS", but I should have set it to "java:jdbc/WSTwoDS", as the *-ds.xml file had "jdbc/WSTwoDS"  ;)
