It's the same stack trace I wrote in my other post
==> 4.4.2 vs 5.0.CR1 error

I saw this JBAS-4282 and I thought maybe there was an issue with
wars in 5.0.

I guess not, if you can deploy fine.

So , did you remove or keep your ROOT.war that is in the deploy directory?
