I'm using jboss tools 2.1.1 GA, I upgraded because the same problems appeared in the last version. I just download the jboss tools zip file, and unpacked it in the eclipse directory, only this, the eclipse edition is europa 3.3.2.
To publish I'm type alt+x,r (Run on a server). Of course, the jbossAS is started.
