For configuring a datasource, you need a *-ds.xml file, which you will have to place in the %JBOSS_HOME%\server\< serverName>\deploy folder. See this for more details http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/ConfigDataSources

Also, there are some sample datasource files in %JBOSS_HOME%\docs\examples\jca folder, which you can use as a reference.
