And for the unittest, the AbstractDBTestCase (in jBPM) has the option to start the jobexecutor and wait a number of miliseconds. That closes and opens the context again for you. You only have to 'keep' the processId and reload the instance again. I'm currently working on some even more convenient methods that even reload the processInstance again, so your testcases become very clean.
